Welcome to Ninos Preschool Program

WE WILL TAKE CARE OF YOUR KIDS

Toddler

We support children when they begin to put two or more words together to form sentences in Spanish by repeating the words and adding more. Our program also help toddlers by establishing healthy self-care activities like washing their hands, and brushing teeth.

Preschooler

At this age children can learn best by doing. Our objective is to encourage the children to be independent, self-confident, being well learners. We will build security trust by respond the children lovely and promptly, providing clear guidelines and provide a safe environment emotionally and physically.

Pre-K

Classes provide children the opportunity to continue to grow through full Spanish immersion activities that also promote language, social and emotional skills, early math and early literacy, physical coordination, creativity, and more.

Our Mission

WHAT'S OUR GOAL

Ninos Preschool Program is the right place to experience a relaxing and fun relationship with other children. Children will enjoy learning in this playful nurturing environment which allows the child’s creativity to grow. Children will experience an open, tender dialogue with other children, thus making special memories that last a lifetime. Sacred to our mission is respect children. We believe in providing your children with a safe, inspiring and motivating environment that invites creativity and exploration through fun, play, art and communication.

We believe in:

  • Acting as facilitators: for parents, teaching each child’s open-ended discovery, invention, and problem-solving.
  • Building: curiosity and confidence in your children as they become critical thinkers, problem solvers, and lifelong learners.
  • Fostering: Connections between families, faith and community.
  • Creating an open, inviting, honest, and non-judgmental community to support one another.
  • Engaging in meaningful relationships with your child and our playmates. Celebrating and encouraging honest expression and dialogue.
At Ninos Preschool Program we take extra care in making children feel safe, comfortable and loved.  We provide children a rich environment to explore and discover.  Our goal is that our graduates enter kindergarten as self confident, effective problem solvers.  Our philosophy is influenced by the teachings of Reggio where children thrive when given time to ask questions, test theories and explore topics that interest them, reading, writing, math, science and social development is taught through play.

We also believe that emotional development is the core of proper whole development.

We emphasize community. We recognize that parents are a child’s 1st teacher; therefore, we work with families as partners in supporting the children’s complete development.  We work as one unit and try to maintain consistency throughout the children’s time in our facility.

Ninos Preschool Program prides itself on offering an anti bias curriculum, one that recognizes and celebrates diversity.  We talk about all kinds of cultures, family units and lifestyles.  We celebrate all people and value each individual and their respective abilities.  We believe that if children are to grow up with the attitudes, knowledge and skills necessary for living in a complex, diverse world we must enable and empower them to be confident in their self identity and in their interactions.

THINGS TO DO

ninos imersion program

The Nino’s Preschool is a Spanish immersion preschool where children, age 18 months to 5 years, can learn Spanish while having FUN! We introduce Spanish using the immersion method; a proven teaching method used for many years by teachers and language experts.

We focus on a young child’s ability to absorb a second language. They will acquire the sounds, intonation and rules intuitively, in a holistic home-like environment, as they did learn their native language. At Ninos Preschool we strive to create an unforgettable learning experience to enrich the children’s lives.

Dreaming

All children are different: some enjoy quiet table games while some prefer running around the backyard kicking ball.
In Ninos Preschool we have everything. Huge backyard for playing soccer, super clean sandbox with contractions trucks, little garden with vegetables, a lot tricycles and own playground, where your kids can engage in physical activity and have fun. Our kids can free access to children’s book, blocks, train set or other toys at free time playing.

Girl

Age-appropriate art programs offers fused glass, ceramics, silk painting, mosaics, watercolor, textured acrylics, collages, polymer clay, painting on glass and more!

Ninos Preschool  Art program discovers great artists, such as Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Klee, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Georgia O’Keefe, Frida Kahlo, Leonardo Da Vinci, Faith Ringgold and others. Kids learn about their life, times and art. Explore their different artistic styles such as abstract, modern, cubism, impressionism, realism, and surrealism. Do a project in the style of that artist, using materials similar to what the artist would have used.

Kid

At Ninos Preschool teacher Bob leads the children in singing a mix of songs in both Spanish and English. We move and dance to music, play rhythm percussion instruments and do African chants. The kids all have a good-time experience of music once a week in music classes.

Music should be an essential part of a child’s education. Music allows students to let the spirit of song and inspiration sing through them. It helps develop creativity, self-expression, self-esteem, and teamwork. It is also a fact that students who study and play preschool music will develop better concentration, will later have better math and science scores, and perform better academically as they get older.

Dreaming

The yoga classes at Nino’s Preschool include balancing poses each week as well as basic yoga postures.  We play the name game, where the kids talk out loud to their friends and tell them their name, favorite color, favorite animal and how old they are.  This really helps the shy kids to speak out loud and helps everyone to practice listening.

Each class there is a combination of yoga, music, dance and movement.

The classes for the 4-5 year old also include cross lateral movements. When arms and legs cross the midline, both sides of the brain are forced to communicate. This integration of the left and right brain enhances learning.

Dreaming

Ninos Preschool Program follows the guidelines of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).  NAEYC believes that through a nurturing, high quality early childhood education (ECE) program, each child is given the opportunity to grow socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively and creatively.  By incorporating developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) with individual awareness, children develop the understanding of concepts about themselves, others, and the world around them.  Through observation and interacting with people and real objects, they can seek solutions to concrete problems.

It is our belief that safe transitions and routines offer security to children and our daily plan offers choices within a structure with activities for both inside and outside.  We understand the importance the environment plays in enhancing collaborate experiences and we work with the intention of extending individualized and group thinking.  We are also advocates of good nutrition and rest.

Ninos Preschool fully understands and respects each family dynamic and at no time will jeopardize your privacy.

Parents’ Corner

Ninos Preschool Program

Welcome to Nino’s Preschool Program and many years of friendship.  As we work together, it is our goal to find ways to build and strengthen our partnership with parents, teachers, children, and community.  With that in mind, we have put together this handbook for you.  We hope that after reading it, you feel even more a part of our school and know how important you are to us and to each other.  It is our hope, too, that you keep this book handy so you can refer to it as you have questions and add to it as the year progresses.

We implement a curriculum based on play, the children and their current interests and level of development.  We know the importance of observing the child, slowing down and truly listening to them.  From there we reflect on our observations and find meaning in everything that we do which fully revolves around the children’s interest.   Putting this book together has validated the importance of this process and forced us to look more closely at policies and procedures and examine their purpose.  Everything in these pages has a story with it and nothing has been put on paper without a reason.  The words are not set in stone however and we remain open to change when change is necessary.  Therefore, we welcome your insights, reflections, and questions as we continue to work together as partners and advocates for children.

Dreaming

We recognize that parent’s are children’s first teacher. We will ask you first for any suggestions to help further the development of your child. We also feel that it is important for families to have an active role in their child’s school life.
Nino’s Preschool Program will schedule Parent/Teacher Conferences at a minimum of 2 times per year and more often if need or requested. Parents will also receive ASQ (Ages & Stages Questionnaire) sheets 2 times per year. It will be your responsibility to complete it with the child and bring it with you to the conference.
We also encourage parental/family volunteering. Research has proven that a child is more successful when both Parent and Teacher have a good open relationship and work together. Children take pride in their school and their accomplishments and thrive when their parent’s and families are involved and working together. Nino’s Preschool  has many opportunities for parents and families to involved, including various celebrations and activities as well as committees that will need your support.
We will need your talents and creativity to work with other parents and teachers throughout the year and share with the students.
Fundraising: Funds raised will be used to support field-trips, school repairs, equipment and activities.
Community Building: Giving back to the community in a variety of way by: field trips to visit the elderly or professional/occupational environments and charitable giving.
Substituting: Nino’s Preschool  values a high adult child ratio. We encourage parents to volunteer time in the classroom. This allows for that student/adult ratio and allows teachers time to facilitate other needs as well but more importantly demonstrates a great working relationship between families and your child’s school that will prove beneficial to all.
New Parent Orientation: You can volunteer to be a buddy to a new family. You would be available to answer any questions they may have about the program

Dreaming
